It should be no surprise, that one of the most influential age demographics is the college group- ages 18-24. Because of the influence of the college-age market in fashion and technology, and also with their income (and often that of their parents), it is important to stay up-to-date on trends of that group. Spotting the trends of these young guns will help you to be more effective in marketing to them. what are some popular trends among the 18-24 age group? Facebook (social networking site), “Grey’s Anatomy” (hip TV drama on ABC), and of course Apple and the iPod win many popularity contests among college students these days.
Keeping aware of these and other trends is important when planning and creating ads, buying media, and using the internet for marketing and advertising.

Short for "Web log," a Blog is a specialized site that allows an individual or group of individuals to share a running log of events and personal insights with online audiences. Take a tour of a Blog on Google’s Blogger website. Blogs can be an outlet for pertinent information about your company or industry, as well as a convenient place to make event announcements. Very popular on social marketing sites such as MySpace and Facebook, adding a Blog to your website can help to optimize your Search Engine Optimization strategy and boost your search result rankings. Google actually has a Blog search that will soon be integrated into the general search, that will display results that include Blog entries.
The key to an effective Blog is to keep information relevant. Give your company a voice. Give your company a Blog! (The Marion Blog is coming soon. Wait for it!)
A popular Blog in the Houston area is the Weather Blog from Channel 13 News and a Sports Blog from Channel 2 News in Houston. |

In October, Aaron Ellisor, President of Marion, traveled all the way to China to do a press check for Sierra Pacific, one of our most exciting clients to work with. Why China? It is actually cheaper to print in China and then ship to the US when you need large quantities, than it is to print in the U.S. Don’t feel left out! Our team here at Marion is here for you, and we’re willing to go the extra mile, literally. Pictures from Aaron’s trip to China are shown above.

Need a Photo Shoot for Your Company Collateral?
Let Marion help you work the Runway!
When designing collateral for our clients, Marion will take care of the whole package, even when models and photography are needed. We have relationships with many modeling and photographers agencies and will find the right people, with the right look, for your brochure, flyer, or any printed piece or video. Recently, we coordinated a photo shoot for a Champion Technologies’ brochure. We found people in the right age ranges, provided props, and supervised the photo shoot to make sure it ran smoothly. Whether using models or your own people, having good photos will improve the quality of any advertising piece. |
