Social Commerce is Here

Marketing strategies created for this group include:
  • Branded micro-sites
  • Customer reviews and ratings
  • Online customer forums
  • Peer-to-peer transactions
  • Product focused blogs
  • Community-created products
Social Commerce is Here

A growth in social network users has led to the creation of a new market segment officially labeled as s-commerce.  Typically the s-commerce group does not respond to online ads in the same way as other users. Since these individuals join the sites to be social, viral marketing is the most effective way to reach them. The biggest and best known social networking site, is, of course, myspace.com.

proactive

Do you needing a branding concept for your company that is unique and effective?

Marion has just completed a multi-phase project for ProActive Diagnostics, a well diagnostic services company.  We created a 3D illustration around the client’s well data graphics, which then turned into a brand concept for all their marketing pieces.  The project scope has included a Flash website memorylog.com, a pocket brochure, a gatefold brochure, and a 10-ft display with a stratus table.

Marion brings ideas to life.

A Race Against Time

A Race Against Time

With six days to complete two elaborate ads for Champion Technologies, Marion was in a race against time. We gathered up our resources and, soon enough, were on our way to production. Following the first concept layout, we needed several models to participate in a simulated race, a cherry-picker for the photographer to shoot from, and a permit to block off the roads downtown. The second ad didn’t require as much preparation, but did require a trip to a rock climbing wall.

And yes, we beat the clock!

Proposed Formula
to a
Good Google Ranking

While predicting Google’s strategies seems nearly impossible, one man by the name of Randfish has suggested a formula for Google’s algorithm.  The formula is not official, but it brings up some good points.

TheFormula:
GoogScore = (KW Usage Score x 0.3) + (Domain Strength x 0.25) + (Inbound Link Score x 0.25) + (User Data x 0.1) + (Content Quality Score x 0.1) + (Manual Boosts) – (Automated & Manual Penalties)

Factors

Definitions

Keyword (KW) Usage

Include keywords in meta tags, density in body copy, internal linking and URL construction

Domain Strength

Age of domain and registration history.

Inbound Link Score

Depends on age, quality, linking text and relevance

User Data

Based on behavioral data – number of time URL is clicked on, search requests, historical usage factors

Quality Score

Probably evaluated by Google manually either with a person or specialized algos to determine page quality

Manual Boosts

Belief that Google manually chooses important and relevant sites

Automated & Manual Penalties

Stated in Google’s guidelines

Marion will keep your website on top of the game by applying new strategies and staying up-to-date with search engine developments.

Google Docs!
Google Docs and Spreadsheets
Google Docs
are a great alternative to the traditional Microsoft Word and Excel applications, especially when collaboration is involved.  You can invite collaborators or just include viewers and restrict them from editing.  The RSS feed features document changes and keeps a history of those changes.  It’s compatible with Microsoft programs and allows you to import and
export files.

Important features:

  • Import current .DOC, .RTF, .XLS, .ODS, .CSV files
  • Export as a .DOC, .RTF, .ODF, .CSV, .HTML, .ODS, .PDF and .XLS

Go to docs.google.com to check it out.

Spruce up your Office

Marion can help you update your existing signage or start from scratch to create a professional looking setup. We recently completed a full signage makeover for Aggreko including two murals mounted on the conference room wall with Aggreko lettering on the opposite wall and other graphics mounted throughout the halls and meeting rooms. The mural was originally hand sketched and then graphically rendered for production.

The tight time frame for production and shipping did not hinder Marion from completing this work of art.

NACE

Brochures with a Worldwide Message

Marion just completed a brochure for NACE International – leaders in corrosion control technology – to promote membership in the organization.  The brochure required a multi-step process including the design of an illustration featuring metal letters resting on top of a pool of water.  Design mockups were created for the basic concept which were then electronically produced with stock photography. The final size of the brochure was 9" x 12" with a 4” pocket.
