Professor
R. Bruce Weisman at Rice University, who serves as President
for Applied NanoFluorescence (ANF),
LLC, recently requested a brochure to be completed as soon
as possible for a conference he was going to attend in Austria.
He required a brochure that visually explained the NanoSpectralizer
to
his
audience. The brochure was edited, designed, and printed
by the Marion Group in less than 40 hours.
 Dr. Weisman and his Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Sergei M.
Bachilo are internationally recognized as pioneering researchers,
who have led the discovery and interpretation of fluorescence
spectra from single-walled carbon nanotubes. ANF provides the

Oilfield Technologies has enlisted Marion as their marketing
consultant to develop branding strategies
for the newly formed company. Marion created five logos to unite the four new
companies under the Forum name. It was important to keep the original name
intact due to each company’s long-standing success.
Forum Oilfield Technologies operates as the parent company for Access Oil Tools,
Acadiana Oilfield Instruments (AOI), Advance Manufacturing Technology (AMT),
and Baker SPD. With completion of the acquisitions, Forum is able to become
a single-source, broad-based supplier of equipment and technology to the oil
drilling and production industry.

Google is
one small step closer to swaying users away from Microsoft
Office after the recent purchase of Upstartle,
maker of the online word processor, Writely. The program operates
on a very basic level and lacks most of the features in Microsoft
Word but users can collaborate on documents and easily publish
them to the web.
Google
may also be eyeing another start-up company called NumSum
which has created a Web-based spreadsheet (think Excel).
Beginning to sound like Microsoft Office?
Developing
online software is becoming popular with many start-ups as
well as long-standing companies. Neither Google nor other
companies are close to replacing the Microsoft Suite products,
but more alternatives are out there.
