Berwanger: Printing with the Pros

Testing Underway for Google Click-to-Call

Google is testing Click-to-Call ads to create a fast, free way for advertisers and their target markets to speak directly over the phone as a result of their Google search.  AdWords listings that include this feature will have a clickable green phone icon.  From here, you enter your phone number and click ‘Connect for Free.’  Google will then connect you to the other party by calling your telephone number.

Google does not share phone numbers with anyone, including the advertiser.  In fact, the only visible number is the advertiser’s caller id.  The phone numbers are also deleted from Google’s servers after a short period of time.  Google pays for all calls except those connecting to mobile phones with airtime fees.

Challenges in B2B Branding

Branding is just as important for b-to-b companies as it is for b-to-c companies. 
However, many b-to-b companies lack in brand development for a number of reasons: 

  1. “Widget Mind-set” – This is the battle of the technical vs. marketing mindset.   Technical jargon explains the features of the product but it does not relate to the customers’ perceptions or brand loyalty.
