Google’s Experiment with
Print Ad Sales

Google, known for its search engine and Internet ads, has ventured into print advertising sales.  The company is quietly testing the market by buying ad pages in technology magazines, including PC Magazine and Maximum PC.  Google is then taking the ad space and reselling it for a flat fee to advertisers that are already members of their online ad network, AdWords.  This benefits advertisers that would normally not have the opportunity to advertise in these cost-prohibitive publications.

Each ad has a direct-response call to action in the form of a URL and a toll-free telephone number, which enables Google to implement a cost-per-call ad model in addition to its cost-per-click system.  Google records the phone call’s origin and then forwards the call to the company line.  Read more about Google Print Ads

Reviews Sierra Pacific website
Design by the Marion Group

www.e-sierrapacific.com

"Sierra Pacific is a Houston-based manufacturer of corporate apparel and business casual attire, offering products to the imprintables, embroidery and promotional product industries through several suppliers.  The intro to the Sierra Pacific Web site is catchy and quick, with the components coming together to form a tidal wave next to the company’s logo.  Very cool and not distracting.  The Web site does a great job of speaking to its audiences in clear, concise language throughout the site.  It features products offered at a glance, with the multiple calls to action on the homepage that helps to increase the likelihood of closing business from the site.  It also offers the ability to search for nearby suppliers.  By including relevant text on the homepage, the site ranks well in searches for “corporate apparel manufacturer Houston,” which should lead to increased business for Sierra Pacific.  This site was designed by The Marion Group."
