Search Engine Behavior EXPOSED!

A recent iProspect study revealed that there are four distinct types of search engine user behaviors. Compare what they found (in descending order below) to your own behavior. Do you: 1. Scan the first few results and then click on one? 2. Glance at the top few results and then look through more results more carefully? 3. Carefully read through all the results on the first page before clicking one? 4. Carefully start reading through the results from the top down and click on the first one that appeals to you?

Both men and women prefer natural search results to paid listings, but women were more likely than men to click on paid listings.

Bottom line - optimize your Website to get higher rankings in organic search results and appeal to all behaviors.

When Words Fail…
There's Always Animation

Need to explain a complex technology or service without writing several volumes of explanation? For this year's OTC, The Marion Group produced a series of 3-D animations for Tenaris Pipeline Services that were inserted by
Tenaris' own in-house services into a Flash presentation. The links below show some out-takes from the 3-D animations as stand alone elements
(the entire animation would take too much memory!). The resolution (sharpness of the image) has been reduced by 50% to accommodate the limitations of the web.

"Making Cancer History"

The Marion Group was recently honored when the M.D Anderson Cancer Center asked us to design and produce a "coffee-table" quality capital campaign brochure for them. The introduction states the brochure purpose:

"The brochure describes some of the most promising research being conducted by scientists and clinicians at M.D. Anderson. It also demonstrates the continuing critical role of private philanthropy in assuring that progress against cancer will be made more rapidly in the years ahead."
