Reporting Internet Crimes

In case you fall victim to cyber criminals (i.e. hackers, spammers) Marion suggest a way to help you find justice.

It is The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The IC3 is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).

IC3′s mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3 provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes. The Power of the PURL and Mobile Marketing

Sample Post Card with PURL and QR Code

…No, not the lovely, spherical gems, but valuable nonetheless.

PURLs are Personalize URLs (or microsites). A person enters their PURL into a browser and they are taken to a web page or microsite customized just for them. Typically used in conjunction with direct mail campaigns, PURLs are designed to increase the response rate of your marketing campaign.

PURLs can be printed on postcards such as the one shown, prompting the target customer to visit the site using the given URL. Recognizing their name, that customer is more likely to respond.

So why is this a good idea?

  1. A great way to create interest and curiosity.
  2. PURLs have been known to increase the conversion rate by 4-5 times than just direct mail campaigns alone.
  3. Higher conversion rates translates to lower cost per conversion
  4. When visitors log onto your site, you’re able to capture valuable data, allowing you to continually tailor your approach to your customers.

You can create an even more modern campaign by including a QR Code along with the PURL. Using their QR reader, smartphone users can go directly to the mobile version of the PURL with just a click of the camera. More on QR Codes…
